Hatch welcomed David Moran as Managing Director of Infrastructure in Australia-Asia, based in Melbourne. The appointment is the most recent addition to Hatch’s regional leadership team this year as the company strengthens its enhanced, globally connected infrastructure business.

Moran has led the strategic tendering approach, design and delivery of some of Australia’s largest and most complex transportation projects with involvement in WestConnex M4 East, the Western Distributor, the Sydney Metro City and Southwest, Melbourne Metro, and the Brisbane Airport Link.

“Moran will apply his extensive experience in the design, construction and financing of major infrastructure projects in the Australian region to deliver the best possible commercial and quality outcomes for clients,” said Martin Doble, Hatch’s Global Managing Director of Infrastructure. “Our clients will benefit from his in-depth understanding of the public sector and project financing, and his overall insights into how integrated, smart projects should be developed.”

The regional infrastructure team will draw on leading edge transportation, tunneling, digital, and project delivery know-how from cross-sector experts in Hatch’s practices around the world.

Moran is a civil engineer with post graduate education in finance. He joins Hatch from John Holland, previously holding executive roles as General Manager of the Southern States, and more recently as General Manager Major Projects.

“I really want to apply the lessons I’ve learned in front line project delivery to challenging, impactful design and project management,” said Moran, commenting on his transition. “Hatch is well known in Australia for the successful delivery of complex industrial projects, particularly in the resources sector. My focus will be on delivering world-class engineering and value-added commercial outcomes to stakeholders. Tackling the tough is part of company’s DNA, and I’m looking forward to helping infrastructure clients achieve their most challenging goals.”
