McMillen Jacobs Associates Hires Director of Mining

MJA-Nelson McMillen Jacobs Associates welcomed Craig Nelson as Director of Mining. He has nearly 20 years of experience in mining and construction management, as well as business development and contract development. He brings expertise in copper, gold, gypsum, coal, phosphate, and other rock-type mining processes for both open pit and underground environments. Nelson will join the firm’s Boise office, and his focus will be to leverage his experience and expand the firm’s mining portfolio.

Nelson’s leadership involvement includes concurrently managing four mining/construction projects within several states, with a total yearly revenue of $60 million and more than 200 employees. His previous experience in business development will help in fostering mining relationships. Recently, he served as project manager for the design and construction of an underground mine rehabilitation project under a lake just northwest of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Nelson holds an MBA from Western Governors University in Salt Lake City and a BS in Mining Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines & Technology in Rapid City.
