University Link Light Rail, Contract U220

This job for Sound Transit Achieved substantial completion on June 7, 2013, and consisted of a large slurry wall excavation at the University of Washington Station, from which two side-by-side EPB TBM tunnels were launched. Each tunnel is approximately 11,400 lf, with 16 cross passages connecting the running tunnels. Tunneling was completed in spring 2012 followed by completion of all 16 cross passages, tunnel concrete and permanent electrical and mechanical systems in early 2013.  Final shaft concrete work and site demobilization occurred in in late spring 2013.  Project Director: Dave Ferguson; Project Manager: Matthew Burdick; Information: Matthew Burdick, (206) 285-8888.
