The American Concrete Institute (ACI) announced that its Spring 2026 ACI Concrete Convention, held in Rosemont, Ill., set a new attendance record, welcoming nearly 2,300 industry professionals from around the world, representing 42 different countries. This milestone marks the highest attendance at an ACI Concrete Convention, reflecting the growing demand for collaboration, innovation, and knowledge-sharing across the global concrete industry.

The convention brought together engineers, architects, contractors, suppliers, academics, researchers, and students for a comprehensive program featuring technical sessions, committee meetings, educational courses, and networking events. Attendees engaged in discussions on the latest advancements in concrete materials, resilience, sustainability, and construction technologies.

“This ACI Concrete Convention underscores the strength and momentum of the concrete industry, as well as the value of coming together to solve shared challenges,” said Frederick H. Grubbe, executive vice president, ACI. “With record-setting attendance, the Spring 2026 ACI Concrete Convention reinforces ACI’s role as a leading authority within the concrete industry.”

Highlights of the Spring 2026 ACI Concrete Convention included:

  • A robust lineup of technical sessions covering emerging trends and research
  • The FRP Composites student competition challenged student teams to design, construct, and test an FRP-reinforced concrete structure that achieves the lowest cost-load ratio
  • Strong participation in committee meetings, driving industry standards and codes
  • Honoring of award winners, such as ACI Honorary Members and ACI Fellows
  • Enhanced networking experiences fostering global collaboration

The convention also showcased the increasing importance of low-carbon concrete solutions and digital innovation, aligning with ACI’s strategic focus on advancing resilient and sustainable infrastructure, supported by NEU: An ACI Center of Excellence for Carbon Neutral Concrete.

The next ACI Concrete Convention in Atlanta, Ga., October 11 – 14, will continue building on this momentum, offering more opportunities for professionals to connect, learn, and lead the future of concrete.
