September 23, 2015
The Tunnelling Association of Canada (TAC) announced that Josephine Morgenroth is the 2015 recipient of the Dan Eisenstein Memorial Scholarship. A BScE graduate of Queen’s University in Geological Engineering, Morgenroth is currently in the first year of her master’s program working with Dr. Dwayne Tannant at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus. Her broad field of study is rock mechanics, with particular interest in probabilistic modeling of tunnel excavation. Her research is focused on mining historical tunneling data and applying it to a Dynamic Bayesian Network in order to iteratively predict cost and schedule for comparable tunnel excavations.
