Henry E. Adams, Executive Vice President of Kiewit Infrastructure Group

Henry E. Adams, Executive Vice President of Kiewit Infrastructure Group and a member of the Board of Directors of Peter Kiewit Sons Co., has been elected to serve as President of The Moles for the year 2014-15. He assumed the role from retiring President Joseph F. Malandro at the Annual Business Meeting and Dinner May 7, 2014, at The New York Hilton Hotel.

Other officers elected are: First Vice President, James M. Marquardt, J. F. Shea Construction Inc.; Second Vice President, Richard D. MacDonald, Weeks Marine Inc.; Treasurer, Alfonso Daloisio, Jr., Railroad Construction Co. Inc.; Secretary, Jeffrey M. Levy, RailWorks Corp.; and Sergeant-at-Arms, Antonino J. Catalano, East Coast Slurry Co.

Adams, after receiving an Associate Degree in Applied Science from State University of New York Delhi in 1977 and a B.S. degree in construction engineering technology from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1979, began his career at Peter Kiewit and Sons Co. as a Field Engineer at the Bolt Hill Station in Baltimore. A year later, he became Field Engineer/Superintendent on the Fort McHenry Sunken Tube Tunnel project, also in Baltimore. Several large projects followed, including the Dadeland South/Hialeah Station project in Miami; major road construction projects in Baltimore; the Tower City Bridges project in Cleveland; and as Project Manager, overseeing major road and highway projects in Pennsylvania.

He was subsequently named Manager of Heavy Constuction for the Grow Tunneling Division and in 1999, Area Manager for the Northeast District. In 2001, he became the district manager of the Eastern District, responsible for projects in the Northeast, Mid Atlantic and Chicago areas. In 2008, Adams was promoted to Division Manager of the Eastern Region. In this role, he has executive oversight of the Eastern, Southeast, TIC Marine, Underground, Mass Electric Industrial (Boston) and Mass Electric Transit Districts and has the ultimate responsibility for profit and loss, safety and quality performance, human resources and business development across the Districts’ geographic operating areas. He has established and maintains strategic market leadership and manages operations through his various district managers, area managers and senior staff over numerous projects around the country.

In 2013, he was promoted to his current position of Executive Vice President of Kiewit Infrastructure Group and was elected to The Board of Directors of Peter Kiewit Sons Co.

Adams’ dedication to the construction industry extends to his involvement in industry groups that support heavy construction. He is a past president of the American Society of Civil Engineers Construction Institute; Trustee of the New Jersey Chapter of Associated General Contractors; and he also sits on industry boards at SUNY Delhi and Virginia Tech.

Adams became a member of The Moles in 1995, and after serving on the Membership Committee, was elected to serve as Secretary of The Moles from 2005 to 2007 and elected to serve as its Treasurer in 2009. In 2010, he served as Chairman of The Moles Award Committee and successively served as Second and First Vice President of The Moles, leading to his election to become the 2014 President of The Moles.
