Honolulu’s Sewer Conveyance and Storage Tunnel Awarded

The City and County of Honolulu has awarded the construction contract for the Kaneohe/Kailua Sewer Tunnel project to the joint venture team of Southland/Mole for $173,114,296. Notice to proceed has not been issued yet. The project involves the construction of a 10-ft diameter storage/conveyance tunnel that will connect the Kaneohe Pretreatment facility to the Kailua Regional WWTP approximately 3 miles in length. The construction of the tunnel is estimated to be complete by January 2016.
