Latest Tunneling Innovations To Be on Display at NAT 2026

From Monday, June 15 through Thursday, June 18 in Anaheim, CA, the 2026 North American Tunneling Conference (NAT 2026) will bring together engineers, contractors, suppliers, owners, students, and academics for four days of essential networking and professional development, breaking new ground for the exciting future of one of society’s most vital sectors. New this year, the conference begins on Monday rather than Sunday.

Over 1,200 attendees and 165 exhibitors will convene at NAT 2026, hosted by the Underground Construction Association, a Division of SME (UCA), with a collective goal of disseminating key knowledge around the advancements, challenges and opportunities for the industry in North America.

“NAT is where attendees enjoy one-of-a-kind, can’t miss access to the latest insights and trends defining the industry, brought to you by leading experts from across the globe,” said UCA Chair, Leon Jacobs. “We look forward to seeing you in Anaheim for another installment of this fantastic event.”

Beyond a robust technical program consisting of over 100 unique presentations, compelling specialty speakers including Matthew Crow (Deputy Executive Officer, Los Angeles Metro), Amanda Elioff (Senior Project Manager, WSP), and Sylvia Lamb (Assistant General Manager of Infrastructure Delivery, San Francisco BART District), and an industry-specific exhibit hall, NAT 2026 offers short courses covering a broad range of topical areas within the sector. This year’s short courses will cover TBM Tunneling Fundamentals and Shotcrete in Underground Construction.

UCA will once again present awards as part of the NAT program, taking center stage during the conference’s opening plenary on Tuesday, June 16. These awards honor outstanding individuals and project teams across the industry and continue UCA’s annual awards program tradition.
