Spieker has also provided his expertise on petrochemical, prison, golf course, commercial, and residential projects. He has acquired broad industry exposure from field experience, general contracting, project management, and the construction consulting profession, allowing him to apply many facets of his construction experience to the challenges presented by the claims and dispute resolution processes.
“Henry’s experience in litigation support, alternative dispute resolution, and in preparing and defending construction claims has involved him in both international and domestic projects,” says McMillen Jacobs Associates Principal Carl W. LaFraugh. “We are excited to have him on our Claims team.”
Spieker has served as an expert witness in the areas of construction management, construction claims, scheduling and delay analysis, contract terminations, productivity, and damages. He has also participated as a lecturer in seminars and at conferences on such topics as scheduling, schedule delay analysis, and claims avoidance. Additionally, he is experienced in construction defect and failure investigations, and provided his property and casualty loss services following the 1994 Northridge earthquake near Los Angeles.
The focus of Spieker’s consulting experience has been the preparation and defense of complex construction claims. He provides construction consulting services to owners, contractors, construction managers, design professionals, and attorneys. These services include issue and contract entitlement analysis, productivity, cost studies, schedule reviews, and preparation of expert reports utilized in litigation, arbitration, and mediation
