Schnabel Engineering Welcomes Lewis

Schnabel Engineering welcomed York Lewis PE, PG, to its team of geotechnical professionals.

With more than 15 years of experience, Lewis brings deep expertise in geotechnical engineering with a strong focus on water infrastructure projects—including dams, levees, canals, pipelines, and tunnels. His skills span hydrologic, static, and seismic risk analyses; dam and tunnel inspections; embankment and foundation design; and construction oversight.

Lewis’ technical background includes advanced 2D and 3D geotechnical modeling for slope stability, seepage, liquefaction, and settlement, along with extensive field and laboratory testing experience. He has successfully supported federal and municipal clients through every project phase—from feasibility studies to construction.

Lewis holds master’s degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Geological Engineering, as well as a bachelor’s in Geoscience, and is a licensed Professional Engineer and Professional Geologist in Wyoming.
