UCA Introduces Young Members Committee

UCAYM logo              The Underground Construction Association of SME introduces the formation of its Young Members standing committee. The committee, formed at the 2014 NAT conference in Los Angeles, strives to help engineers, geologists and construction professionals develop within the tunneling and underground construction industry, as well as entice university students to enter the profession.

The UCA Young Members committee plans to host monthly online webinars comprising a variety of topics including case studies, recently completed or current projects, ongoing industry research, and professional development.  The webinar series kicks off on Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. EST/noon PST, with a presentation by William Edgerton on the DC Water’s Clean Rivers Project. The webinars are graciously sponsored by the UCA and free of charge to people of all ages interested in attending the committee’s events.

The committee is led by Erin Clarke of Jacobs Engineering, Shannon Goff of McMillen Jacobs Associates, and Anthony Bauer of GALL ZEIDLER Consultants. For information, visit http://community.smenet.org/ucaym.
