Giorelli Joins JCK Underground Inc.
Marco Giorelli, an underground engineering and management specialist with an expertise in mechanized tunneling, has joined JCK Underground in Washington, D.C. Marco will support JCK Underground’s efforts on DC Water’s Clean Rivers Program as well as lend his expertise to JCK Underground’s work nationally.
Giorelli brings three decades of underground experience; after working on the Caracas Subway, the Boston Harbor Cleanup Project and the Aosta-Mt.Blanc Highway tunnels, he returned to North America to take a position with LOVAT in Toronto where for 15 years he honed his skills as a TBM expert and serviced tunneling projects throughout the world. Most recently Giorelli was the contractor’s Project Director and Manager for the Eglinton Crosstown LRT – Eastern Tunnels and Spadina Subway Extension – Southern Tunnels in Toronto where he was responsible for $300 million in soft ground tunnel and transit construction work. Giorelli holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Merrimack College, an M.S. in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University and a Professional Engineer license in the Province of Ontario.
